Level 2 water restrictions to be implemented for NSW

Level 2 restrictions will apply to Sydney, the Blue Mountains and the Illawarra and will include a ban on washing the car with anything other than a sponge and bucket of water.

What Level 2 means

Hoses will also not be permitted to be used to water the garden (bucket or watering can only) in what will be the toughest water restrictions imposed on Sydney since 2004 when dam levels dropped below 50 per cent.

Watering of gardens under the new restrictions will need to be done between approved times

The fines for not adhering to government-mandated water restrictions are $220 for individuals and $550 for businesses.
